Hey Fi, Allan I can muster a half dozen already who'd like to do an 0850 three hour training chain gang ride where they can contribute for the full ride without getting a total battering. If its a proper chain gang there should be something of a work out off the front turns anyway so it's still ...

Hey Phil cheers, just in from glasgow but will rock up tomorrow for a battering!

I perhaps have not expressed clearly enough that I don't think Clifton IS meeting everyone's needs. Fine if you've been able to train all winter, as you say, but there are folk who aren't fast enough for training ...

Cyan, cat 3's are not the only riders out there.

I'm making an observation about what the club could do to address Tullio's question, I'm not attacking a minority group of riders who are already getting their needs met. Positive comments and proposals might be a better way to contribute to the club ...

The club needs something in between 'all day long cafe' and short 'pro like fitness' training rides. Earlier PROMPT starts, between 0800 in warm weather and 0900 winter, home by noon. A fast but not 'race pace' three/four hour maximum ride.

These rides 'could' be a step up to the training rides ...

Thanks girlies, ill give the Sat am training ride a go, see if I can last ten minutes but will probably set something up along the same lines for a sundry morning, but a lesser pace so that folk can try to stay on for all the ride...Pass the word, lets see what interest we can chivvy up. There must ...

Cheers Phil, Rob. It's simply about training smart when you have a demanding job, long cafe rides don't do it sadly, though I love to dip in for fun if and when time and other commitments allow.

I'm signed up to ride cross race Sunday so might come along for a brief battering on Saturday but I can ...

Hey thanks rob. So, I posted in training and racing because long cafe rides don't help race training. Just a a general observation for anyone who races.

I guess I'm after a group three hour burst but at this time of year not a hard beating, I'm also coming back from injury. I know other folk also ...

Sunday rides

What, if any rides are there Sunday mornings please? Is there an easy way for folk to see, especially newbies, what riding is on without having to wait for specific posts or the email shot a couple of days before hand?

Cheers!

Alternative to all day long and late start cafe rides....

As much as the long cafe rides are lovely, for those of us who just can't spare all day out on the bike every Saturday but would like the benefit of riding with some others what are our options these days - apart from a royal kicking on the 0900 training ride?

There used to be a really popular new ...

What a great initiative! Would have loved to benefit from this weekend but it clashes with the Action Medical Research RIDE 100 on the 14th August. There are so few big local events like this a bunch of us signed up super early and so will miss the weekend. Have fun those that do go!
