You've helped at so many of these events over the years, Ian, that it's the TT series which should be giving you a break! :)
Well done everyone- it was a pleasure to watch you.
For those who've wondered about time trialling but have never tried... the "Come and Try It" 6 mile TT is next Thursday ...

Club ride- Sunday 28th September- NY Moors.
Hello All,
This Sunday’s MTB ride is from Chop Gate (an hour's drive from York), meeting at 10am in the car park on the left hand side of the road 100 metres before reaching Chop Gate village (from York).
As for the cycling route, a few good options are available and it would be useful if some ...

Well done to the Tan Hill’ers.
The “A” ride on Saturday consisted of: Rich, Graeme T, Kevin N, Simon, Dr.Dave, newcomer Kevin, Fin, Jon G and Stu.
Dr.Dave gave us a great route. First we went over the Howardian Hills as a warm up, before a steady climb from Pickering onto the Moors tops. There we ...

Re: Plans for rides during the Tour weekend
If it’s useful, here’s one little plan to watch the Tour at Grinton climb: I'll be leaving York at 7.00am and driving 1 hour to Bedale to park the car and if no space there, then Northallerton.
Either town will make it a 15-20 mile bike ride to arrive at Grinton/ Reeth by 9.30am.
Mike H will be ...

Excellent write-ups. To briefly add to Broomwagons’, our group for this Sunday's monthly Clifton MTB ride was: Paul C, Rich and Steph S, Jeff, Steve W, Simon and Hannah W, Phil A, Alan R, Chris H and Steve R.
As the “ride guide” for the day I was frankly the least knowledgeable MTB’er of the group ...

Re: This months Sunday ride - 15th June!
Hi all and thanks Hannah.
As mentioned, the Sutton Bank new ‘red route’ was the "slightly faster group's" planned ride, but the route is far from being completed.
It’ll be one to try later in the year.
However the weather forecast for this weekend is excellent: 17C and dry.
So instead the ride ...

Thanks, John. Darren N and myself are going too.
In case others can’t find the email John refers to sent on the 16th May, it said:

Great write up Darren- it felt like being there.
In comparison to that 300km, the Pock Pedal sportive on Saturday was 100 miles with a 60 and 25 mile version. Yet like any good challenge ride, it stretches you enough so that towards the end you think “I can’t be doing this next year”, which you ...

Re: Easter weekend Roundup
Yes Dr. Dave gave us a lovely ride into the Moors. Other highlights were:
# Passing Easter picnickers at different beauty spots in the Moors- they’ve driven to one spot in their tin cans, whereas we saw all the best spots with our windows fully down.
# Short steep climbs that almost had the front ...

Re: Pock Pedal 2014 Open for Entries
Just bringing this back up so nobody misses it. Clifton’s own sportive the “Pocklington Pedal” is on Saturday 3rd May.
The entries close on Fri 25th April.
If you’ve not done it before it’s a cracking event- food stops, timer, grand start etc.
And with all the riders out on the course, it brings ...

Re: Friendly debate on the way forward for the Intermediate
Thanks for taking the initiative on this, Dr.Dave. And for guiding us on some of these rides too, because like Eric I am a hopeless navigator!
I'm hesitant to suggest changes in case it alienates people, since the majority of Intermediate riders will be joining us soon and don’t post often.
