Despite the wet conditions and worse forecast there were 10 riders in The Square for the Sunday bash. Birthday girl Heather, AndyG, IanH, TimR, Stewart, Dave, IanK, Steen, Sean and self. Started OK, the rain wasn't too bad and at least we had a gentle tailwind. Then at Cundal the weather changed in the blink of a eye to stiffish headwind and the temperature dropped about 4 degrees. By Masham, we gave up on Jordan's Moss and took refuge in the steamy cafe. Nobody seamed keen to leave, but eventually we were rattling back through Grewelthorpe, Ripon and Borobridge.
Started with 10, finished with 10 and apart from the odd comfort stop, we kept it together nicely.
Just shy of 80miles at almost 18mph (for the out of cafe section), so I reckon you shouldn't be too hard on us for cutting it short....
Shame though to miss Jordan's today and I though that next week we could head out through Nidderdale and come back over the mountain road...
Good luck with the medics tomorrow Ian, remember to take a picture of Coppi or Moser for them to work from Hope you're back out quickly.
Edit: mention in dispatches for Heather - who won a 5k running race on Sat am, ran up Roseberry Topping in the afternoon, then towed the bunch on Sunday
