I have been looking to do this one...

As I'm new to this racing lark, whats the difference between open and fun, I also understand you don't need a race license for these either, am I correct?

you only need to purchase a race licence if you plan to do more than 2 of the xc national series where points & rankings apply (sport class & above) so you shouldn't need a licence for open or fun.

You could say fun isn't a race where as open is but you should be fine in either, you can make them as competitive as you want them to be for yourself :)

I'll be there racing, I'll be at sherwood pines next weekend for the 1st round too :)

I went yesterday too, I entered the fun cat just to get some idea on what its like... was going well too till my bike died on me, good old free hub packed in!

It was seriously wet, I think the start/finish line is the worst it was like a bog, only 100 yard off the start line I was soaked to the bone...

Great fun though, I will be doing it again!
