Hi James
I am a bit out of date here.
But can report a couple of years ago a group of more "roadie" mountain bikers used to enjoy regular rides starting from Castle Howard Great Lake.
Sheriff is off the edge of where we used to venture but only really a bit of a warm up away.
I suspect if you are a more "hard core" mtb rider may find some of routes a bit tame but imo its always good to get out on a summers evening.
And you can top up the action with a trip to one of the centres or up to Moors.
I would suggest
1. You get on Pauls mailing list for current crop of mtb riders; drop me or him a pm with your email and will sort out
2. Try to get out on one of club mtb rides; sorry i am not a regular but suspect someone would be able to help out with lift if required - keep an eye on discussion board
3. If i am ever out for a tootle in your neck of the woods will drop you a note
Perhaps we could do with standardizing on some online, off road mapping format then could share routes - or are there too many legal, liability issues there?
MA
PS I am threatening to get my mtb in working order - can you believe its been out of action since last years Scotton!
