Feb/Mar - Wales Trip - Betws-y-coed

Post by Jez »

Have been looking into the February Wales trip.

Have come up with the plan of making Betws-y-coed our base and staying at the Glan Aber Bunkhouse it holds up to 18 - cost to be double checked as it says £13 per person per night on the website but from speaking to the lady running the place she quoted £19 without breakfast and £24 with breakfast as the price for the room which holds 2 people - so will need to clarify.

Was thinking we could ride the Penmachno trail / Marin trail on one of the
days, with an OS route for the other.

The dates available at present are:

18th/19th Feb
25th/26th Feb
4th/5th Mar

A £10 deposit is required per person.

Please could you advise that a) you're interested and b) which dates you prefer.

I'm in Jez, the 18/19 would be best for me but I can do the others.

All - have just spoken to the bunkhouse again to check availability for the 18th/19th. At present they do have the rooms however have found out that the price for room and breakfast is £24 per person per night, so £48 for the weekend.

Am inclined to suggest that I try and find suitable alternative at lower price.

Have provisionally booked the 6 of us in at the Woodlands Centre and am awaiting confirmation for the weekend of 18/19th Feb - cost is £12.50 per night per person so you will each owe me £25.

Regards to breakfast I'm thinking that everyone will probably sort them selves out - there is a kitchen so anyone inclined to have a full English is more than welcome. For dinner I'm sure between us we can ruster up an amazing curry or pasta dish.

Hi guys, I'm interested too. I have transport and can take 3 others, with bikes and gear, if required. Is it too late to join you ? Steve
