Club Run - Sun 17th Jan

Just to confirm, for those that have asked, that there will be a ride this Sunday but we're not sure where yet.

With the weather it's a bit of a moving target but, although Saturday looks awful, Sunday is looking good and the rain may wash a lot of the white stuff away.

Post here if you're interested so we can get an idea of numbers. It's likely to be somewhere on the Moors rather than Dales though.

I'm up for Sunday, although hopefully the back roads to the meeting point will be clear of snow as i don't fancy driving sideways down them with my rear wheel drive car!

We will be meeting at The Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge at 10.30am

GR 679997 (North Yorkshire Moors Western map)

This is a great location as it gives many route options on and off road + the road up to the Lion gets enough trafic to be clear of the worst of the snow.

I have just spoken to a nice lady at the Lion Inn!

She said the road is open up to the pub but it is still only single track due to the snow, in places drifts up to 10 foot. Apparently all the rain we have had in York today has fallen as snow on the moor.

Due to parking at the pub being limited, we have changed the meet point to the public carpark in Hutton-le-Hole (GR 705902), same time 10.30am.
