Dear Club Officer,
I’m writing to see if you could possibly help with raising the profile of a charity cycling event taking place this Autumn, for which we need further riders. The event is an epic overland cycle rally that will leave the UK in September and travel 6,000 miles through to Kenya. It would be an enormous help if you could forward this e-mail and attached poster file to your club members and anyone else who you think may be interested.
The rally, which is open to any teams of riders that wish to join, is raising money for a superb charity (‘HSK’) that builds and equips schools in rural Kenya. With the recent violence, the charity has found a further emergency role in supporting refugee children within the school system. Once we arrive in Kenya, we’ll be lucky enough to get involved in these projects - forming a direct link between our donors and the charity.
The website (www.downrightkenya.org) has stacks of information about how the rally will run, and the groups that have joined up so far. It would be great to get some teams from other regions of the UK; any help you can give would be much appreciated!
