Dirty Clubrun, 18th September

Post by Rob »

I'm marking your cards early for this one in case you want to plan some last minute mods for your bike.

The idea is simple, a clubrun with lots of tracks and bridlepaths. I don't usually pay too much attention to the weather forecast, but make an exception for this one, and am pleased to see a warm dry week is predicted. This should mean the Going will be good to firm.

I'd recommend a minimum tyre width of 28mm and no mudguards. Road/Cross/Mountain bikes, all should be fine - just important to compromise a bit on your pace to keep everyone together.

I've planned a route around Millington and Thixendale, but will change it on the hoof depending on progress. Expect a café stop and back in York mid to late afternoon.

Bring several spare tubes (of the right size!), fluids, carbs and a sense of humour.
