Sunday Clubrun, 28th May, Scotton 130

Post by Rob »

As trailed previously.
The Scotton route starting from York, ridden as a clubrun.
Pick up the route at Aldwark Bridge.
Should be fine on MTB/cross bike/winter road bike (widest tyres you have). We're not riding for a "time".
Going is "good to firm, soft in places, occasionally heavy".
Cafe in Ripon
Bring a couple of spare tubes!
See you in The Square at 0900 as usual. Sense of humour essential.

We have Dave I's blessing for this however the one thing he did say before he went to France to join the fight for workers rights was. ''Don't dress in club kit for this one''. Some of the lanes are not public rights of way. We shall avoid these but if we mess up on our navigation best not give an angry land owner a particular club to blame. Much better for him or her to be angry with all cyclist and not discriminate.

So to be clear is non uniform Sunday but you don't pay extra.

Ha ha Steen, who's kit shall I wear? Only kidding should be a good ride to see where I'm actually riding without being eye balls out like during the race, oops not a race.

Will be a good opportunity for anyone who's wondered what the April event is like and maybe has been thinking of doing it to come along for this chance to ride it as a club run, should be fun.

Sorry for my impromptu bail out on ride yesterday but I was running on nothing but bravado by that stage, so a wise choice in the end I think. A good ride, with good company. I think I've worn out a MTB tyre on all that tarmac though.
