A rather apocalyptic forecast on-deck for Saturday. While the temp will be a mild 12C, they're calling for 46+mph SW wind and as much as 15-20mm of rain.

I can handle and dress for the rain, but realistically, if the wind materializes then it's unsafe for cycling and I'll probably forego the ride in favour of a Zwift-trainer session.

This route was suggested to me a couple of weeks ago and at just over 60 miles, it fits the bill for a bad-weather ride and should get us home well before the 15:44 sunset.

If it's particularly wet, we can cut off the Kilburn section (White Horse Bank was very greasy last time I did it after rain, so I expect it to be horrible during rain) and whip over to Wass and Ampleforth.

Have to say I'm with you on the wind issue Tony. Went out today and had a good ride, although I have to say that the wind was blowing me around a fair bit on fast, open stretches of road; and that was only blowing at half the speed of tomorrow's predictions. I'm sorely tempted to go out with the Sunday ride up to Osmotherley when the forecast is for sunny periods and only moderate westerlies. Anybody else thinking on the same lines needs to remember that the Sunday ride goes off at 9am, Happy cycling.

While we appear to have dodged a bullet with regards to the wet part of the storm (thanks Desmond ), the winds are still an issue.

The current forecsast is calling for strengthening SW winds throughout the day, thus increasing the risk on our return from Helmsley this afternoon.

Given the safety issue, I'll be staying inside with Zwift today, and may tag on the Sunday ride. If anyone decides to venture out today, be safe!

Just got a call from Graham, who'd also been chatting to KevN and since neither of us favours the early start, he talked me into postponing the Inters/A-ride until Sunday.

Forecast is dry, sunny, +8C with 15mph winds from the West.

I think you guys might be in danger of missing an opportunity hear to try the flavours of a different club ride.
After all your members of Clifton Cycling Club not the Inters/A-ride club.

Don't think of it as loosing and hour in your beds but gaining an hour on your bikes.
