Training ride, Saturday 22nd

Post by PhilBixby »

For those of us who aren't dashing wild-eyed around the shops desperately hunting down left-too-late gifts, there will be a training ride on Saturday! Forecast is not good (variously between 3-5c, "feels like" considerably less, and probably raining at some point) so I'm suggesting the southerly route to give us a chance of getting round (i) in groups which stay together and (ii) safely.

For all who reckon that sounds okay, I'll see you in the square at nine.

Should be out. i'm sure there's a Spar in Wheldrake where I can pick up any last minute presents.

This route is really flat isn't it? I'm thinking of bringing out the 'deep winter' cyclocross bike but it weighs a tonne (possibly steel). Think I may go backwards on any climbs.

Cheers

Will we still be doing the southern loop if the world ends tomorrow? At the very least the apocalyptic fireball might make the roads a bit smoother :D

Any flood reports out Sutton-on-Derwent way? All roads still open?

The weather tomorrow looks particularly horrid.

The garage and turbo look appealing.

Just checked the weather report for tomorrow...

As in the words of Duncan Bannatyne....'I'm ooot". See you next week hopefully.

If anyone fancies a couple of hours Sunday morning post up on here!

Anywhere to be honest. If we can get a decent group together we could look do one of the standard routes?

At least it's not blowing a gale tomorrow - I'm planning on being out, but may choose simplest, least-liable-to-be-underwater (ie northerly) route if I've not got to worry about keeping anyone else happy! :)

Having looked outside I'm with Martin on this one. I don't often say it but the Turbo's looking good -and dry!

If you're out have a good one
