These evening events are great, everything from blingtastic Cervelo TT machines to old steel bikes with mudguards.

Not a breath of wind at the start, but apparently it was a headwind all the way round...think it's known locally as the Sutton on the Forest vortex!

Pipped by an old fogie !

Looking at the times, ride of the night is Jade, 3 1/2 mins behind the fastest lady on a tough night is a great ride.

Sorry, somehow managed to bring my number home (25) even though I remember Billy helping me take it off. Must have walked off halfway through.

Congrats to Greg - no idea how managed his time given Scotland trip last weekend. He must have put some effort in as disgustingly soggy pair of handlebars at end. Were you licking them all way round?

Organizers / helpers on the night should be proud of themselves. Excellent event but shame we didn't manage the full 40 on such sunny evening in the vortex.

If you see any club members who weren't there spread the word for next week; they are missing out!

Thanks, but I seem to have finished about 40 seconds down on most of the field: they're all crowded between 23.44 and 23.53! As for the handlebars, sorry about that but I told you, I soak them in sugar solution and lick them when I think I'm going to bonk 8)

Thanks to Billy and the marshals for putting on the event. With any luck I'll see you again for my first Bulmer TT on Thursday.
