Post by Dr Dave »

This seems to have had a low profile for a club-organised event? Anyway have entered as have a few others.....

I'll be riding this like a club run and will be happy to have regrouping stops whilst not actually stopping for too long. Not bothered by the time so would be glad of any company so may join you Bernard :)

Steve and I have entered this and it would be good to ride round as a group - will you be starting at 8:30am ? If so, then perhaps we can join you ?

If anyone is up for an Intermediate-style group ride on the Mega route, they should loiter in my vicinity at the start - I don’t want to hold a yellow umbrella in the air for fear of attracting groups of Japanese tourists. Remember that once the Town Crier has done his thing, Andy sends us off in groups so make sure you lurk closely.

Of course if you’re the type that morphs into Fabian Cancellara when you get a transponder on your wheel, you should definitely feel free to chase a PB by yourself – but remember this is Flintstone territory and if your tyre blows up, Betty won’t be waiting out there in a skimpy, leopard-skin one-piece to help you!

See you on the carpet at the start if you’re interested.

Without wanting to seem like I'm changing allegiance would be good to have an intermediate ride so may join you Darren. I think you know me well enough to know that I'm no Fabien Cancellara though so your safe in that respect :)

I'm sure you get some other takers on the day.

If the usual intermediate/'A' group riders do all go around as a group and work together they're likely to be as fast/faster than any one individual 'doing a Spartacus' anyway so you get the best of both worlds :)

Would that be Betty Turpin, Betty Boop or the Aunty Betty who makes the yorkshire puddings ...?
