a bit of advice needed...

Post by HannahW »

I have a teeny tiny lung capacity so I get out of breath really quickly when I'm cycling. I did a bit of research and discovered a little contraption called a "power breathe" (see link below) which is suppose to increase your lung capacity and strengthen your breathing muscles and I wondered, has anyone every used one and if so did it work?

many thanks,
H

Hi Hannah,

I have used one on and off for the past few years, it takes quite a while but definitely makes a difference that you can feel.

Kind of uncomfortable to use tho, and you do look a bit of a twit!
I used mine on the way to work and got some real funny looks.

Swimming is good for increasing strength and capacity of lungs, head under water front crawl breathing on every other arm stroke...

Adam: I recently started swimming again actually and I'm loving it. Teeny problem with front crawl is that I struggle to get my strokes and breathing coordinated. Good tip though, thank you.
