Nick
Well done Nick for organising - and coping with the stress of the village hall keyholder showing up late!
I have photos of every rider crossing the line - we'll get them up in a gallery on the site ASAP but if any of you want your pic emailing to you, just email me (or PM me your email address) and I'll send 'em out.

Yes, thanks to Nick, Helen and team
Millie and i really enjoyed Sat
Good venue and excellent weather added to a relaxed atmosphere at start
And nice everyone hung around at green as they finished to clap the rest home + that slightly bemused old boy at end
Course was excellent and whole event looked v professional with banners and flags.
Good to see so many younger riders + families out on bikes. I noticed quite a few of the helpers came from racing members which was nice. And hope people who took membership forms will come along for more.
Cycle Heaven were very generous with their prizes: the only thing i wondered for future was whether more categories may fit better into ethos e.g best OAP, family unit, youngster male/female solo, mtb with knobblies, folding bike etc?
I hope this is not too much of an admin nightmare as convinced, along with Go Ride, this is the route club should be taking. "Inclusive Racing" as part of our policy of bringing on next generation of cyclists!
PS
Bliimey that was some time by Andy the runner! Jamie "only" did 10:58 on this course last year. Hope to see you on a Thursday Andy!
Also I presume people should mail membership@cliftoncc.org for photo and / or info on joining? Phil - feel free to edit / remove this address if worried about spam.

Different course, Mark. But it was still a very impressive time by Andy. In fact there were a number of very good times in there considering for many it was a first go at it. I went out in the evening and did the course at TT pace and, while I'm by no means the world's greatest time-triallist, there were a few riders - of all ages and genders - who'd have me worried after they've had a few more rides to sharpen their skills!

Just a query - I had mentioned to my son that he might want to have a go and he was keen. We were all set to come along when we realised that as he is 'only' 11 he couldn't take part. Understandably I felt a bit of a prat for getting him enthused only to have to say sorry.
Is the lower age limit set to meet CTT rules? I understand the way that the 'safety first' issue tends to apply but would have been perfectly happy to allow my son to compete and signed the disclaimer - watching him play full contact rugby for York I am aware of risk issues but am keen that the benefits of sports participation aren't ignored in the pursuit of 'safety'
As I say this is just a query as to the reason for what seems a rather high 'cut-off' age for participation....

Hi Dave - the 'must be 12 years old' is a CTT rule (not ours). Different organisations have different age restrictions for the open (ie not closed) roads - Brit Cycling is 16 while the TLI is 14 (at the organisers discretion).
We've had a few queries about this re the spoco series past couple of years, but not much we can do as the CTT are insuring us.

I think Will's HR monitor is still over in Manchester and he is going back there to collect it when he gets chance.
As the others have said it was a great success and was a pleasure to help in the event.
I know Andy from my running days at the same club so we all got used to seeing him from the back as he dissapered into the distance, If he decides to join us which I hope he does I will have to get used to seeing him from the back again only it will be on his bike this time.
Very Impressed Andy.
