Just a heads up for anyone needing cheering up after the "Professional Cycling..." thread (I know I do).
After the Tour highlights tonight on ITV4 they're showing the "Final Hour" documentary about Chris Boardman's attack on the "Athlete's Hour" record. Really worth watching this (and playing back before riding any race yourself)! The last lap really makes the hairs stand up on the back of your neck!

The state Chris Boardman ended in - having to be lifted off - was inspiring and in line with other hour record holders. Anyone have any info on chap who recently broke Athletes hour - Czech specialist i believe?
But what was the deal with bike and when margins are so tight does this not point to issues with format?
Looked like an extra long top tube to me if not slightly out of ordinary stem.
And to beat Mercxs' record by such a small margin are we not talking about depth of rim and / or covered helmet?
I qualify these comments with fact i have no issue with any of Boardmans rides or fact he rode clean all his career. Although when it comes to missing birth of a child i do wonder about priorities.
