Christmas Ride Out Lunch

Post by Helen »

Hi there it's that time of year again, well actually about a month to late to think about the ride out Christmas lunch.
We will not be going to Ripon this year so the search has been on to find somewhere new. We wanted somewhere closer to York, somewhere that serves Christmas lunch and has plenty of space.

The new place is the Blacksmiths Arms at Flaxton.
They can offer us exclusive use of the pub on the Saturday either in the Dining Room or next to the fire in the main pub.
They have lots of space.
The menu is either 2 courses for £16 or 3 for£20
I know that is more expensive than in previous years but it wasn't the most expensive price quoted this year.

We will need to book by the end of November.
Firstly, can I get some feed back on which date people would prefer
We can go on either the 6th or 20th of December.
Secondly, I will need to take a deposit with me to book.
So depending on feedback I will post a date by the end of next week and
sort out arrangements to collect deposits.

Thanks for sorting this out, Helen. After two years featuring a puncturefest and near-death-from-hypothermia, closer sounds good!

My vote's for the 6th...

I'd like to come, but typical of me to be awkward, I'm working on the 6th, so it would have to be the 20th for me.

6th sounds fine with me, and the location (in a pub)and not too far from home will be just right as I have another christmas meal to attend in the evening, no wonder I am finding it harder to get up those hills.

Hi there

Steve will be booking the ride out Xmas lunch for the 6th December
I will ask Cath to include all the details on this weeks official update.
Briefly - Kevin will lead a ride which will arrive at the the pub for 12-30pm and to be eating by 1pm. I don't yet know if there will be a mtb group coming. We need to pay in advance, so if you could let me have your cheques (made payable to the club) by30/12/08.

Thanks
