Is it true?

I mean why is the guy in second place confused as to why he was not first? surely him and his team would clearly see if he got overtook or if someone was in front of him all the time?

Copied from the Veloriders forum, Ali says:-

"Well - I'm glad to have made a few people smile. I was still pretty surprised when I was called to the podium - I'd started in the fourth wave of riders, and only overtaken, so didn't know how I'd done relative the front riders, which with hindsight, was an advantage - I didn't have to outsprint him. Anyway despite some slight delays in negotiating the "traffic" I pipped him by three seconds to win a Titanium Brompton.

Having been called at relatively short notice after getting changed, I went onto the podium with baby Jessie still on my back, which with hindsight seems to have increased the "who the f is this" factor for Heras and the bemused Spaniards; who I chatted with afterwards and seemed pretty entertained to be fair. The event was really well run so thanks to all involved."

Excellent stuff!!
