I've already emailed everyone who specifically said they could help, so I'm punting this on here to catch all those of you who haven't specifically said they can't!
As you probably know, the event is a two-stage affair with a prologue TT in the morning (first rider off at 10:00) and the RR in the afternoon (starts at 12:00). What we need is...
The morning TT is relatively simple in terms of admin - we've got starters and we've got timekeepers for the finish. Vacant slots though for a pusher-offer and for one person to marshal the s-bend/bridge shortly after the start. Volunteers please? You'd need to be there for about 9-ish and would be finished by 11 - unless you can stick around to help in the afternoon too. Anyone who can get there even earlier would be very welcome to help with signing-in (I'll be there from 8:00) and sorting general pre-event panics.
The afternoon RR needs marshals at the various junctions and danger-points. As most of you will know, the circuit is the hilly Sheriff - Bulmer - Ganthorpe - Terrington - Sheriff loop that some of you will have enjoyed in the SPOCO series. Specific locations will be allocated on the basis of who's got transport etc. Dayglo bibs, flags etc will be provided, along with a packed lunch - please let me know if you're veggie! We'll also doubtless need help at the finish line at the end of the race (we have the BC photo-finish kit booked but, well, I get more pessimistic each year...). The race should be finished by about 2:30-ish and the prizegiving will follow as soon as possible after.
We also need drivers (with cars) for lead/commissaire/following cars and I know a few of you volunteered for this - we're in the process of trying to sort out BC membership and hence insurance cover and will be in touch with you ASAP. There will also be motorcycle marshals there, so it should be thrill-a-minute.
Event HQ is Sheriff Hutton village hall, which is on the right on the way into the village on the main road up from Strensall. There's lots of parking - please don't park on the road.
If you can help, and haven't already been in touch with me, please can you email me (or post on here) to let me know we can include you in the numbers for on the day?
Thanks Folks
Phil
