Tan Hill Audax
Hi.
Hoping to do this still (possibly).
Just wondering who is driving up there and if possible if anyone could give me a lift from the square or somewhere?
Thanks
Will

I'd guess there'll be a group heading up from the square. It's only four or five miles from there to the start anyway.
More pertinent, I'd think was getting home from Shipton afterwards when you've 140+ hard miles in your legs. I'll give you a lift if you like, though if you're intending to ride it with Rob's group they'll be having two cafe stops and be making a full day of it. I might be a couple of hours quicker than that so I shouldn't want to have to wait 2 hours at the finish.
I'm hoping, a Ian H, Arthur C (even Howard if he fancies a steady day) group will ride it. I'll ride the flat stuff with them and they may take it steady on the climbs so I can keep in contact. I'll be having one cafe stop at Reeth (The Copper Kettle), with other brief stops for drinks and to get my card stamped. I'd think you'd want to ride with them anyway.

Yea I dont want 2 cafe stops, cant afford it, I'd want to go around with the slightly faster group if I am able to. I dont know about riding to the square, maybe I should get my dad to give me a lift but at that time in the morning I dont know if he would.
I'm sure I'll be able to do it, at 129.8miles it should be ok, I'll try get my dad to give me a lift into york and pick me up so its just like a normal sunday club run.
But it look alot further than 5 mins out of town to the start line.

You are thinking of wistow (near selby) and not that Westow up north somewhere right?
Its going to be chucking it down tommorow so aint going for a ride on my bike tomoz but I need to get my bike to Cycle heaven before sunday as its creaking like an old rust bucket now, looks like next best day to go will be thursday but you think I'd be doing too much riding too close to the tan hill Audax on thursday? Its about 30 miles riding that.

Hmmm I'll try, that'll be a test of my patience skills 30 miles on flat in the little ring.Arthur wrote:30 miles will be fine. Nice spin to loosen the legs. Just take it easy! Nice and slow. Don't use the big ring
Dont you think getting your wife on a bike and bringing her along to do the 130 miles would be the perfect birthday pressy for her?AndrewM wrote:I'd love to do it, but it's also the wife's birthday that day and I fear I might never ride again if I turn out for this one.
