I suspect it would be easier through the night too since its cooler? How much should I spend on lights that would be good enough?

Just borrow a pair for the "big night"

I've got a lead acid battery powered pair of fronts which you are welcome to

The low wattage powered bulb should give you enough light for on road stuff

And the added weight should slow you down enough for everyone else to keep up

How heavy are they where do they go? On your back? Weight on my bike dont bother me unless its mega heavy, but weight on my body kills my back.

Sadly on your own bike. Suspended under top tube. I have wished they might be attached to someone elses bike but think trailing cable may cause issues in bunch.

Let me know if want to take up offer of loan.

Weight only approx couple of water bottles? I think both Rob and Paul have had a pair in the past - they might have a more accurate guesstimate :)

I'd like to at least see what they are like on my bike and see if I am happy with cycling with it on if it is possible sometime?
