Hello everyone!
Just registered with the site...looking to get out on my mountainbike a bit more than i do at the minute. Im scottish, been down here for 7.5 years, but I dont know any good routes!!
Do you organise any regular runs? Or is it a bit adhoc and arranged through the message board?
cheers!

Hi there
If you want to ride out from home and don't mind short on road patches
you can be a good ride together using the bridleways and green routes.
The ride we did last week took us from Bishopthorpe out to Tadcaster over to
MoorMonkton and came back to York via Poppleton. There were no big climbs but a mix of terrain and some exciting bits requiring some bike handling skills
not to mention cows and sheep. We can get to Castle Howard and out to Skipwith Common in a reasonable amount of time.If you head out on the cycle track to Selby past the Fisherman's bridge there is a drop down to purpose built ramps etc you may have to mix it with the teenagers on their BMX but I understand thats part of the fun.(no I've never made it down there I'm far to sensible)
