No you don't! You just can't wear trade team kit.

Now I'm more confused about kit! The thinking behind the question was that it might be considered unfair to have a team working together if it's not possible for other competitors to identify them easily. I've no idea if that's part of the TLI rules (maybe I should track them down...) but I didn't want to fall foul of any such restriction.
I'm not Cat3 or higher; I've never raced appart from TTs before.

You'll be okay in the TLI races riding "plainclothes". As you note, there's an issue about teams working together but I don't think anyone takes the TLI's that seriously and anyway we need all the help we can get

Race starts at 7:30, you need to sign on in good time. Most of us will be there from 6:30ish to give time to get numbers, get warmed up, natter, etc.

Thanks Phil. Hope to see you there at 6.30. Metcheck promises fair weather too... I've just got back from fifty miles of Wold, Wind and Wrain so almost anything would be an improvement.

Use Met office of BBC, Metcheck is usually wrong more time than BBC and Met Office.

Absolutely cracking Clifton presence at last night's race at Bishopswood - I think we had about a dozen riding plus Andy Johnno marshalling and Will keeping an eye on us from the other side of the road. And a good points haul too - how was it for everyone?

As Phil says it was a very impressive sight to see all the cliftonites out in force, and with the placings we had in the top ten it will give us a good chance to retain the shield we won last year.

I was quite pleased to finish in the bunch again as it seemed very fast on some occasions.

Phil can you e-mail me the stats you recorded on your Garmin, I always forget to check mine until after the steady ride back then I've no idea of the average speed.

I really enjoyed the race, my first one, kept in the group and even did a bit of work. With half a lap to go I nearly got involved in a crash and lost touch but at least I stayed on the bike.

Thanks to Phil, Dave B and everyone for giving useful advice.

Ian:- will email over Garmin info. It was indeed pretty brisk for a Tuesday night - the wind direction meant we were sheltered from the headwind through the woods and had a tailwind on the main road stretch. As a consequence there was no real let-up. As a comparison the average speed was about 3mph higher than the Seacroft Wheelers 3rds/4ths race on that circuit back in March.

Dr.D:- There was a prang on the last lap on the climb over one of the railway bridges where someone slowed right up, wheels touched, and a small number of riders came down including tomf who got caught up in it. It really is pretty rare though - I've seen more bloodshed in TTs since I started racing than I have in bunch road races.

Three more races in the series, so if anyone's teetering on the brink of having a go, get out there! All are based at Boroughbridge and all are nice circuits; two weeks' time is Milby which is flat-ish.

Well that was my first RR this season, I said I wasnt gonna RR this year, just time trialling, but I got tempted yesterday and I actually enjoyed it.Plenty of action but just got boxed in out of the final corner so just cruised over the line.Hope to do the rest of the series (work permitting).

Thinking of doing the Boroughbridge one in 2 weeks but bit far, deffo could not ride there might have to get my dad to take me.
