Our "Come and Try It" TT on 14 June - help needed
Moderator: Moderators
A big thank you to those who have volunteered so far, both on here and by other means. I'll be in touch with details shortly.
Jobs still unfilled:
Second signing on
Timekeeper's assistant (to call numbers of the finishers)
Second course prep and pushing off
Assistants to wander about in club colours at the HQ and help newcomers with general questions about the event and the club (x2)
I really would appreciate the final few helpers coming forward soon.
Thanks again
Nick

Nick, hopefully we should get quite a bit of interest from college students. I've had a poster displayed prominently in a student area for about a month and all staff on a large cycling email list have been notified.
I was just wondering. Is it frowned on for existing members with TT experience (I did most of the flat rides last year as well as this one) to actually take part? I'm happy to mill around before and after and will seek out any confused looking newbies, just wondered if I could do the ride too?

Arthur - I'd be up for a gentle couple of hours afterwards if the weather's vaguely okay.
MichaelC - and this is just personal opinion, I don't think there's any established "etiquette" for this yet - take a look at last year's results (they'll be buried in the Club TT series results) and you'll see that a fair few of the club regulars rode it as well as lots of newcomers. Personally I reckon as long as you're as encouraging as possible to the newbies (eg don't just snarl as you flash past 10mph faster) then it's not going to do any harm.
