Just forwarding on this from CoYC - Stacey and I had each attended one of the consultation sessions:-
Dear All,
Just to let you all know, following our success in the first round of assessments, we attended the Cycling Demonstration Town interview in Birmingham on Wednesday 28th May. A total of 74 towns and cities had applied to Cycling England with 16 towns (York being one of the 16) and 3 cities being short listed for interviewing.
We felt that the interview went well and we expect to hear the results on 19th June, when the successful 10 towns and 1 city granted Cycling Demonstration Town/ City Status will be announced by Ruth Kelly, Secretary of State for Transport.
Thank you all for taking part in the consultations and thank you for your valuable efforts that helped shape and develop the bid. The cycling forum will continue to exist and meet twice annually despite the result of the bid. We will keep you all up to date and let you know the result of the bid as soon as we hear and you will all be invited to future cycling forums.
Again, many thanks for your participation and support in developing the bid.
Kind Regards,
p.p. Simon Town
