Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their help last night: Rob, James, Phil, Andy J etc... (I was the one that came off on the final corner)

Pleasant wait in A and E, had the cuts cleaned etc., but no need for stitches/suchures. Just very stiff and sore now, more annoyed by missing out on what I felt was a likely-PB. But I'll be back

That must be the largest number of riders to turn up for a spoco let alone the first event of the season. Is there a write up for the local paper?

Secondary motive for this reply is to ask for more riders to turn up to help at the 'Come and Try It' event. We still need people for jobs and to be there to talk to newcomers.Short event so possible to combine helping with riding the event or doing a ride afterwards.

Glad you got that elbow properly looked at Andy - it looked like there was lots of road topping stuffed in it! Hope it heals quickly, and see you back out there again soon.

Best quotes of the evening:-

Nigel, as pusher-offer, to bloke in front of me on low-pro bike:- "You know you're in the little ring there?"
Bloke:- "Yep, that's okay, I want that to start off"
Nigel, with disdain:- "Ponce!"

Andy S:- "Well, on the evidence of that, I'm not sure that tapering since last September was a good idea...."

Was anyone out there taking photos that could be sent to me asap for the press write-up?

My stock of time trialling pictures is just about exhausted.....

Thanks to everyone who organised/marshalled/helped last night - really enjoyed it.

They're all really good Steve! (and besides, for those of us who are a bit blurred, we can show people and claim it's due to the speed we were going!)
