Hill climb this weekend for me. Usual ride out from near selby for me to meet a small but select group in square to ride to bishop Wilton. Quite a few already there and signed on raring to go and in varying states of their warmups. Not taking it too seriously myself so the ride out was warmup enough so despite a short ride for a comfort break

that was that. 11th rider off for me so trying to find number twelve to check if I was likely to be passed on route. It turned out to be one of the many young contingent so my chances were not looking good.

looking at the result I think it was a lad called James who beat me by 15 secs so I was still ahead at the finish so for me a positive result anyway

.
Once things were finished another small group headed to millington for a second breakfast

and we were quickly joined by many of the others who had helped or ridden that morning. Cafe very busy so sat in the sun outside, very pleasant when the sun was out. Afterwards I headed back through pocklinton, Sutton upon derwent, wheldrake, skipwith and selby whilst the rest led by rob head towards huggate and a ride around the wolds before heading back.
Good day out and 75 miles for me door to door with one steep hill in the middle

so not too bad. Hope to be back out Saturday with the inters all being well.
