Those that chose the Circuit of the Moors as their ride of choice certainly get their money's worth. Turned into some ride. We went clockwise and also shaved few corners off, but this only increased the climbing. Included were some of our favourite roads, but, boy, it was a hard ride. 3000m of climbing, but no big set piece climbs like you get in the Dales. It was just up and down all day.
White Horse bank, Osmotherley Mountain Road, Swainby, Westerdale Moor, Danby, Glaisedale, Grosmont, Limber Hill, Blue Bank, Little Beck, Harewood Dale, Troutsdale, Thorpe Bassett...... after that, even the A64 flyover hurt.
Take a bow; Jonny, PsychoAndy, Steen and IanH. Awesome riding.
Looking forward to some normal riding now...

Re: Weekend Roundup 24th/25th Sept
Jordans anti-clockwise for the Sat 10am crowd: James, Kev, Kev, Graham, Jon G, John B, Tony, Tom, self and guest rider Paul. After a brief hiatus where a car pulling a caravan caused traffic chaos at Aldwark bridge we passed via Ripon to Grewelthorpe, then 'cut the corner' before Masham to Leighton reservoir and over to lunch at Howe Stein Gorge.
On the way back some discussion lead to us taking the main road to Ripley, omitting Brimham. From there, Paul did a very passable imitation of a 500cc motorcycle all the way back to York, with James taking the odd turn and with Tom and me going full chat to avoid disappearing out of the rear door. We never saw the others - I trust everyone got back OK

Keep pedalling!
