Inters/A-Ride for Sep 03

Post by Tony »

Weather looking unsettled for Sat; 19C with a southerly breeze and decent chance of getting wet on the ride home.

We haven't been up to Osmotherley for a while; many of us recall the blizzard when we ventured up there in April. It should be better this time :D

140Km / ~87 miles square to square.

View and download the route at RidewithGPS or click the map.

Hi Tony,

Is it Saturday (3rd) or Sunday (4th) for the Inters Ride?

I rode in the opposite direction last Friday, up and down White Horse Bank and then round to Byland Abbey. When I reached Oldstead, the road between there and Byland Abbey was closed and the diversion took me right and back to Coxwold. That road surface wasn't too great and there was quite a bit of diverted traffic using the route and some mud and standing water to wade through in one of the dips. Not sure how long the diversion was in place for but it might be advisable to avoid the signposted diversion route as a group and continue onto Coxwold from Byland and then round to Kilburn and White Horse Bank.

Cheers,
Craig

oops, fixed the date :?

Thanks for the heads-up, Craig. I guess we'll take a look tomorrow and if need be, continue from Byland Abbey to Coxwold and Kilburn, thus avoiding the "shortcut".
