Tan Hill Challenge ride weekend 20/21st August
For those who hadn't remembered, this weekend is the Tan hill Challenge, 225 kilometres including both the Cotes De Buttertubs and Grinton with Tan Hill between them. Steen Berg is happy to lead a moderate ride on either Saturday or Sunday withe a 7.30 start from the Square and two cafe stops. It would be useful to have two groups if every one agrees to do it on the same day, so please post here your intentions. Bernard

Hope it's Sunday, I've made alternative plans for Saturday, I know most of the usual A riders are riding the Sportive from Thirsk this Saturday.

That's an overwhelming vote for remain then.
So we will stick with plan 'A' Sunday 21st 7.30 from Sq.
If anyone wishes to meet on the way out it should take us about an hour to get to Helperby maybe a tad more.
We will go for two stops for food and to take on more liquid. But bring plenty of rations with you.
Could be windy and wet on the tops so bring an extra layer. An effort will be made to accommodate all who turn up. We had a mixture of strengths last year and we kept together on the flatter bits. I always find I like the company at the back of the group better on on the hills
Its a classic club ride with sliver prizes for best girl and best boy. I think Dr Dave won them both last year.
See you Sunday

Hope to be there . Nothing can be as hard as last week's cobbled climbs. Haven't done tan hill for years, seem to remember it being warmer on the December ride than the summer one.
