Mrs Ward and I are venturing down from the mountains and coming back to Yorkshire to visit family next week. I’ve been given a pass-out on Saturday (25th JUN) and thanks to John B I also have a bike, so I’ll be joining the Intermediate ride.
I have been truly blessed riding in Switzerland over the last two years. Since leaving I’ve been on a bike in the UK just once, a 5 mile potter in rural South Yorks which resulted in being hit by a p!ssed-up motorist on his way back from a Christmas morning session at the local. So expectations are set low; angry borderline psychotic drivers, pot-holes / sink-holes, obligatory wind etc. However I am looking forward to a decent cafe stop, taking in the Yorkshire countryside and of course catching up with you all particularly the 'old-fart Inters'.
I’m hoping to put in a good performance having dropped a bit of weight and to show off my new-found climbing prowess however in the very likely event of poor performance, I have various excuses lined up e.g.; I’m on a borrowed winter bike (with mudguards apparently), jet-lag, wrong side of the road, I ride in KM’s not miles. I have the best part of a week to come up with more…
Looking forward to checking out the route and seeing you guys on Saturday!
Dave.

Re: Wardy's Return...
Regrettably I have domestic duties next Saturday so won't be able to ride.
Have a good ride guys.

Keep pedalling!
Re: Wardy's Return...
Sorry to hear that Dave. I was looking forward to seeing you (and also drafting you). Mrs Ward is pregnant, she's due in September. I expect we will be back and forth more often so hopefully will see you in the not too distant future - if I'm in a fit state. Hope all is well with you.
Cheers, Dave.
