There're 6 of us booked on this trip. If you like the sound of the itinerary described below, I can add you to the booking - just post or send me a PM
Saturday is about 175k. Early start from the Square at 0800. Simple ride up to Leyburn then over Cote Du Grinton Moor for a quick stop at the Dales Bike Centre near Reeth. Then on up the draggy side of Tan Hill. Straight across at the top for the less well traveled descent towards Brough. Then along the edge of the Eden Valley to Dufton. From there it's a wacking great climb up to the top of Great Dunn Fell, about 840m, the highest road in England. Then back down to Dufton YH, where evening meal is booked, followed by a few shandies.
Sunday is a longer day, about 230k (ssshhhh!). Get away as soon after breakfast as we can, Hartside Pass, Alston, Teesdale Head, Langdon Beck, left turn up to the top of the St Johns Chapel Road, the highest through road at 627m. There's then an easier route if the weather is bad, but hopefully on down into Weardale, Stanhope, Unthank Bank, Bollihope, Barnard Castle (lunch), Richmond, Bedale, home. We might not get back in daylight.......
Should be an absolute belter of a weekend and one to tell the grandkids about. I pity mine.
