It looks like another nice Fall aka Autumn day; dry, with some sunshine and mild SW breeze turning S-SSE later on.
After last weekend's splendid day out to How Stean, since we don't often head that way, how about another trip west, perhaps towards Ilkley?
While I don't have any routes or cafe options in my head, I found this suggestion online:
http://ridewithgps.com/trips/2717778
We could take the suggested route to Wetherby or dip down via Askham Bryan and through Wighill. I can navigate to Kirkby Overblow (or we could dip down Kirkby Cliff and across the valley), but need help with the final leg to Ilkley and a suggestion for a lunch stop.
Any other ideas out there?

If you want to head that way again this week then you could head out through Ilkley and head towards Bolton Abbey. Only thing is it would probably involve returning through Pateley bridge as per last week so as not to duplicate the outward leg too much

Hey Jon;
That's certainly an option, but I'd think many might not want to return via PB, since that's what we did last week.
I'm not too familiar with the area, wondering if there's a viable route from Ilkley to Fewston, then perhaps return through Beckwithshaw, Pannal, Spofforth, Cowthorpe etc.?
We could also return via Wighill, taking the lower road back through Askham Bryan etc.

I think the best possibility to avoid Pateley bridge would be to head out of York through Askham Bryan , Wighill etc and head to towards otley and ilkley maybe as far as bolton abbey. We then could back track towards Ilkley on return leg as the only alternative would be a trip down the A59, which i don't fancy, and then head towards askwith and timble and head towards fewston and beckwithshaw as you say and pick up the road through spofforth and then on towards tockwith etc.
