Dent Challenge Ride, Sunday 28th

Post by Rob »

This'll be one you tell the Grandkids about.....
0700 start, prompt, from The Square.
Head out west: Pateley, Grassington, Malham (likely first pit-stop), then Settle, Ingleton, Kingsdale, Dentdale, Coal Road, Garsdale Head, Hawes (pits). Then down Wensleydale and home down the Vale of York. There is another obvious route home from Hawes, but I think you can have too much of a good thing sometimes.

As it is, this route is 280km, 3000m of climbing. I'm thinking of 11 hours of riding, plus a few stops. Gets us back at 8pm. Though, I'm going to fit a couple of LEDs just in case.

There're already a handful of us committed (in more ways than one) to this, so you should have some wheels to shelter behind. Really is one of those rides where we need to keep pushing on, without going mad. Should be a great adventure and includes many of my favourite mountain roads.

Go on, you know you want to.

Can't make it this Sunday unfortunately - otherwise would have loved this - assuming reasonable weather. I'm sure you'll have a Grand Day Out :D
Keep pedalling!
