Let’s go North on Saturday

9.00 am from Exhibition Square......Head to Wetherby Rd (B1224) – right down Mill Lane after Rufforth – Head to and thru Tockwith - then north up the A168 to Boroughbridge – Milby – Helperby – Easingwold - Crayke - Brandsby – Whenby – Sheriff Hutton and back to York.

Forecast: cloudy with possibility of rain by the afternoon.....7 to 9 degrees...so a bit chillier than last week!

And... please remember that drivers of cars, tractors, etc. and any other road users are our friends so please be courteous

Dozen or so in the Square. After much discussion we decided to ‘go large’ and stay as one group. The theory being that the route was on good, mainly flat roads and if we kept it to short turns it would be fine. Numbers swelled a little when we headed to Tockwith with Andy and Damien joining us so we decided to spilt it into groups after an early comfort break. I was in the larger second group but with 3 of us opting for an easier ride owing to rehab from injury, etc. groups seemed to be of equitable size. We kept 1st group in our sights for a while but a puncture heading to Easingwold checked our progress and we got a little bit cold after that as the weather turned unpleasant. No takers for the extra bit from Crayke to Branbsby, etc. so we headed back via Huby. Good solid riding all round.
