Re: TdF "K Ride" Special Sat 5th July
Just a quick note to say a thank you to Kevin for this ride - the plan worked like a charm. Great route, great ride and great views of the race. We hardly saw any traffic until we were in Masham apart from when we crossed the A1. I actually felt sorry for all the car drivers below us! Masham was an excellent choice - it had everything, from big screens to fish and chips. I even managed a respectable 85 miles door to door in superb weather.
Just in case you haven't seen enough film of it yet.... here are two clips from me.

Stage 2 at York Racecourse:

Just to echo what Pete said above. Great ride by eight of us with Kev on Saturday up to Masham including Virginie, Phil, Craig, Simon, PeteT, IanW and myself. A fantastic day with super weather and great company. Me and Ian had a great spot just before the bridge where we could see the riders come down the road and over the bridge in front of us. Awesome spectacle all round. Got back at 7.30 with 89 miles for me. Brilliant day out. Thanks for the ride Kev.

Have to agree with Pete and Nick, a fantastic choice of route and location by Kevin. The views and scenery around the Fountains Abbey area on Saturday were glorious. Simon had to be back in York pretty early, so we weren't able to hang around and watch the closing stages on the big screen, must've been a slight downer having to ride back with Cav's crash fresh in the mind, but we did get to ride from Masham to Ripon on closed roads. Thanks all!
