Thixendale Spirograph Saturday - Steady Ride

Post by bernard turgoose »

Just a note to say that all being well I intend to lead a steady group for this next Challenge Ride, and intend to meet in the square at 9.15 in order to leave at 9.30 sharp. I expect that some of the intermediates will be doing their own version, so we may have more than one group in the area as per last year.
Who will be joining me?

Last year the ladies at Thixendale village hall who open for refreshments and cake asked if we could let them know when we are coming again to ensure they have plenty of cake there, I seem to remember they gave one of us a card with a contact number, has anyone got this?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was under the impression that the village hall isn't open on Saturdays. I was planning on using fridaythorpe as a stop. It only opens Sundays I think that's why Rob used it as a stop in previous years.

I'm hoping to be in for the vertical and horizontal convolutions. Any chance of a preview of the sequence of ups, downs and bits between. Mal

Hi Mal, above is a link to last years A ride, if you click on it then click "Player" you can follow the ride if you enlarge the map and press the play and pause button at the top left hand of the screen.

Apart from this I can't recall the order each climb was done.

Just got the Clifton email rides update and it says the rides for this leave at 09.30 prompt, I presume the "A" ride is this time also as Bernard has already posted above these times.

Personally I think its worth more than 1 point for this 90 odd miles and the climbing involved :(

Ian H ( Another Quick Edit,) the above link does now work :D :D
