Weekend Roundup 14/15th

Post by Rob »

7 In The Square (a quality group of PeterH, Mussy, RichardD, Cooky, Steen, AndyG and self) for an early start on the Sunday Christmas Clubrun to Scarborough. A fantastic display of group riding over some challenging terrain and super December conditions took us the 55 miles to Scarborough seafront in a little over three hours. The sea front cafes all open for business, but our chosen haunt of the Golden Grid had no turkey.... Still, nobody really cared. Steen opted for "Wykeham Pheasant", which we all suggested was just road-kill. All squashed wildlife from their on was duly pointed out to Steen.
Headwind ride home through the Forge Valley, Vale of Pickering and the Wolds. Richard and Pete did some long turns and we were all running on fumes by the time we rolled into York at 4.45.
Great ride, thanks chaps.

As Rob's post, did the Scarborough Ride. Really enjoyed it, great weather and after other years no p#%$^%$s. My mistake was going via Towthorpe xroads(tried to), Waited for minutes but no gap so went the way I normally go back into York. Still no problem and 112 miles .

Enjoyed the Sunday Club Run and not just because of the road kill casserole-did I say it was good ?
Finished the ride feeling much better than I did on the same ride last December. It was a ride where the fittest helped the rest of us survive. Hope to make more of a contribution next week. That might be more of an aspiration than a promise.
