Informal Xmas ride/lunch next Saturday

Post by Dr Dave »

Stu has offered to host a Xmas meal next Saturday lunchtime at the Cross Keys on Tadcaster Road.
It was suggested that this could effectively be the cafe stop for the 10am rides as well as being open to all members. The only thing is that he would need to have a rough idea of numbers by 10am that morning
To avoid any potential misunderstanding, this offer is from Stu; I am simply spreading the word - this is a last minute thing, and has no official club sanctioning.

Sounds good to me Dave. I haven't been out for the last few weekends and may not be doing much until mid-Feb as I've finally got my elbow operation sorted for early Jan. I'll follow up with Graham and John from the 10am'ers, I imagine they will come. Is Dave B aka the 'Cycling Santa' planning to attend? If not will anyone take on this important and prestigious role?!

Id be interested but would most likely ride straight there rather than meet at square as I have something on in the morning. I just need to know the potential meeting time at the pub and approx. finish time as I have a xmas do to get back for in the evening which is in leeds.

Stu suggested that 2pm would give the 10 o'clock riders enough time to get a few miles in before eating and also would mean that the kitchen would be starting to wind down from his other customers so they could manage our meals without delays.

Prices would be determined by menu choices but are relatively inexpensive he says ;)

Hi all, been under the radar for a couple of weeks catching up with some solo rides.

As far as Stu's place, i can vouch for the quality of both the service and the food as have been there a few times. and for that I am game.

I take it this will be an end point to the Saturday ride ? if so; might i suggest an earlier start !! just so we can get a few extra miles in ?

Thoughts ........ !!!

Thanks Dave

2pm is a bit too late for me so will probably give it a miss. Id be cutting too fine to get into Leeds.

I'm heading up to Scotland again on Friday evening and so won't be able to make the ride/lunch this weekend. Hope you have a good one and maybe catch up with some of you over the Christmas period. Craig

Not sure if I can get to the Square for 10am due to other commitments. I will be at the Cross Keys for 2pm however. See you there,

Finally a ride with the café stop only 1 mile away from the Square instead of the usual 40+ miles, with proper food, beer on tap and the cycling bit being optional.
See you at 2.

That's great, looks like we have a party on, I've rang Stu today and he should be at the square at 10 am to see how many are coming, he said he does not want to know any menu choice then and it probably won't be a Christmas menu but we can order from the menu there.

See you all there. :D
