Stolen - Cervelo R5 - Dark Grey

Post by chester56 »

Having raced the LVRC event this morning with Tim, stopped off in York on way back to watch the City Centre events. Upon returning to my car (St. Pauls Square, nr. Holgate Bridge) I was met with the sight of a smashed rear window and empty space...where my Cervelo R5 had been, having been disassembled after my race. Police were called and details circulated. Please keep an eye out for the following:
A dark grey Cervelo R5(54 cm frame) equipped with a variety of Campagnolo componentry, Deda 100 bars (white) and white tape with Easton wheels. I intend to let bike shops in York know of the theft and welcome advice as to any other steps I can take.

Any information please to me on 07974 101781

Many thanks

Andy

Sorry to hear that Andy, devastating. I had my RS stolen last year, never found but I hope you have a better outcome. I presume you (or your brother) has the bike registered with Cervelo with chassis no. so I would let them know also and maybe post on the Cervelo forum.

Not sure yet Tim. The Police are looking in to it today and Cycle Works are circulating details to outlets in York.

Over the last fortnight, there have been a number of bikes stolen in the Holgate area and we have had two notices through the letterbox from the police asking if we have seen anything suspicious.

If the same people are responsible for all the thefts, they don't appear to be specifically targeting high-end bikes as a neighbour had their commuting bike stolen. So it would appear to be opportunistic. I really hope there is a positive outcome, someone is caught soon and you get the bike back.

Continued Observations please

Post by chester56 »

Sadly, my bike remains outstanding and on the basis that it remains in one piece and is being ridden cheekily in York, your kind observations are kindly requested.

By way of reminder the bike is a charcoal grey Cervelo R5 with white lettering on the frame. At the time of the theft it was equipped with Campag components and Easton wheels with white Deda Zero 100 handlebars and a Fizik Arione seat (black)

Any suspicions of sightings then please call Andy on 07974 101781
