How do you remember stuff like that, Dave?

Steady Three Bridges Ride

Post by bernard turgoose »

For those who want a slightly more sedate pace (14-15mph), I will be there on Saturday, so for those who haven't riden 100 miles before, this is an ideal opportunity to do so with good company.
First cafe stop will be on the south side of teh bridge at the visitor centre, the the Waterways centre, Goole. ( Roz are you coming?)
See you at the Scout Hut.

The B1228's been closed south from Rossmoor junction for a couple of miles. I've scouted out a new route, which cuts the Rossmoor corner by taking some back roads. through Ellerton and Storwood. I'll email out the amended route sheets within the next couple of days, until then you can see the change here: Altered route

Was hoping to make the 3 bridges ride but due to work commitments its looking unlikely :(

On the the 2 previous occasions ive done the ride i echo Dr Dave comment on the av speed. it was 19.5mph for whole 100 miles. Bearing in mind im no elite athlete. it was brisk to say the least even though its flat. Im sure we were breaking the audax law on av speed

I think I've done all of the three bridge rides? I seem to recall one year not including stops we did it in less than five hours but I might have imagined that. Paul W you'll be fine with the brisk group. I'm not doing either ride though, I'm doing something dirty at Aske near Richmond instead.

For anyone who needs it, the blank entry form is available here.

If anyone's entering on the day, please print one, pre-fill it and bring it with you. Entry is £2.50 plus £2 insurance if you're not a BC or CTC member.

Here are the updated route sheets for you to read, print and inwardly digest. They now take a lanes route to avoid Rossmoor junction, which has been closed due to roadworks.

Anyone planning to ride out to Stamford Bridge from the Square on Saturday?

I'm guessing about half an hour, so leaving at 8.15 should work for those riding The Bridges route?

Please post if you fancy this.

Best regards

I'm up for riding out John. Am I able to pay and enter on the morning Greg? I've looked at the link but it says entries are now closed.
