Quick update.
Firstly thanks to all the posts on here wishing me well.
Robs post on the weekend roundup really summed up some good points, don't know what the hell I was thinking about getting to my feet maybe I was not thinking straight, if your laid out in pain stay there and get the emergency services.
I'm still in hospital on my 4th day now and have had time to think about what happened, I should have taken the strong wind more into account I think as I approached the bend a gust of sidewind blew me off line a bit from then on your not in control.
The physios tried to get me walking yesterday which did not go too well as a combination of my back in spasm and being a bit out of my head on morphine and tranquillisers causing dizziness meant I had to Tate to the horizontal again we will try again today and if I manage they will be able to get rid of me back home.
On a lighter note I had to laugh at the banter on here by Steen and on Facebook by friends, I needed just 2 more points for my gold on the challenge series so I may have to negotiate with Bernard how many it was worth after 100 miles into a headwind with that sod of a climb up to Brough while the wind up there was trying to stop us in our tracks at times, ha ha.
See you soon I hope if I walk to the square sometime.

Are we there yet
Hi Ian
I've had a year of totally trivial factors that precluded points gaining. Nothing remotely as traumatic as the results of your a**e over t*t exploits but have been given all clear today for various aspects so can get stuck in again. Will happily attempt a few end of year challenges and pass on any points as your proxy. I'm sure BT won't mind if one Old F*rt helps out his equally aged copain.
Recover well! (and make sure Mrs H doesn't worry too much)
