I haven't been out before is this just one group at a fast pace, or open to all? Which square?

Exhibition Square (the Art Gallery) by Bootham Bar.
It'll be one group, open to all - and I doubt there'll be more than a handful tomorrow due to BH weekend and the Pocklington Sportive today.
Traditional clubrun mentality - trying to keep it together. One cafe strategy.
It's an athletic endevour, but wouldn't call it a training ride. Talking of average speeds is pointless as it depends on terrain - tomorrow is decidedly vertiginous!
You need to be up for 90 odd hilly miles and be prepared to ride among the wheels.
A variable gear mechanism is recommended!

Okay, maybe I am out of my depth then. I'm just trying to build up to doing a 150 mile coast to coast in June, it's there and back in 2 days. I really need to start getting the miles up as have just been ticking over whilst training for London marathon. Is a sat the best option to Suss it out!!
