Post by Rob »

Question asked on another thread about this year's challenge series. I was asked today too. Below is the draft. Bernard is ironing out some creases before posting on the main site. Is Ryedale Rumble points correct? Unless consciously downgraded ( anti-sportive sentiment? ) the long route difficulty warrants a 3.

Another comment is that of the qualifying events with dates stated, 4 are on a Saturday, 11 on a Sunday. Could some of the club-based events be held on Saturday to enable those with commitments on Sunday to participate?

31st June??

I really don't know how many points the RR is worth but am sure Bernard will check consistency with previous years. If anyone can spot any other creases then please shout up - will make our jobs easier.

The club based events are organised/guided by Bernard, Steen or myself and I think we can be forgiven for picking dates to suite our availability. It may not be too late to include a couple more Saturday events if you are volunteering to plan/guide Dave.....

No probs, I'm sure we can schedule a club run type ride that would constitute enough of a challenge to qualify. I'll liaise with DC regarding a suitable route and we can inaugurate the '2 Daves' ride.

Challenge Series 2013

Dave, if you both put something together to cover Saturdays only riders, please liase with myself and we can then get them up & running on the series listing, so that we get as wide an audience as possible.
So long as we have plenty of notice it will be good to widen the appeal etc.
With regards to the Ryedale Rumble this will not be taking place this year, but it maybe replaced with another version on the 14th June, but details are still to be agreed by BC, so you don't need to worry about the points allocation etc.
We also haven't got the Arthur Metclafe up & running, due to the lack of an organiser, so if any one is willing to take it on, it is for a very good cause ( MacMillan) and is always very popular!! If someone comes forward it will get added to the list.

I thinks the Scotton is on the 7th April not the 13th.
Well I hope it is as I am cycling it!
