Training Ride Saturday 5th January

Post by Cam B »

As a special treat we have given Phil B a couple of weeks off. I plan to be out though. Looking at BBC website I gather that Buttercrumbe and Cawood Bridges are still out of action which rules out a couple of our normal routes. Therefore, I am going to suggest that we go North: Tockwith-B'bridge-Milby-Easingwold-Crayke-Huby-home. This will include everyone's favourite road ....don't get too excited... the A168!
As per usual we may look to split into more than one group if numbers are too big. We will be aiming to get the 'wheels turning' at 9.00am. See you then.

Hope to be out, got to start stretching the chain now. I'll be climbing off in Easingwold for coffee and toasted teacake, or it might be B'bridge if I'm swinging by then.

Great...thanks Paul...Lets go East then as we haven't done that for a while...It's got a few gentle lumps in to keep us from getting too bored...So that's Malton via the Buttercrambe road, Coneysthorpe, Terrington, then a loop of the Flat Ten circuit, then back to York.

Darren...sorry to mess about with your plans for "Elevenses"..You should be able to get a teacake in Malton if you need to :D

Hopefully be out.

It's going to be a dry weekend for once apparently (that's weather-wise not the fact that I drank the last of my Duvels on NYE).

Do you go over the bridges to get to and from work, PaulW?

The Press and Northern Echo websites have both bridges still being closed due to flooding.

The North route, excellent! It seems to suit me better than the others, plus I did 10 hours cycling over Christmas week and I think I've lost a kilo. I can't help the phrase 'do your worst' popping into my mind - and I'll see if I'm still there at the end.

What not going North, going East? Oh blimey....oh well, I'll ride out but when I drop off on the rises I don't want anyone to wait. I'll be quite happy having an easy ride on my own for an hour or two.......it's all miles in the legs.
