2013 Etape du Tour

Bearing in mind that this is the 100th edition of the TdF a bit of the dissapointment the stage they have picked considering that there is Alpe Duez and Mont Ventoux featured next year. Abit short too!! :(

That climb up the Semnoz is a beast! Did it from Annecy in May this year and it's as hard as the Tourmalet - seriously! I suspect that although the distance looks short in terms of kms the ride will be pretty taxing.

I think the tourmalet stage will be almost too much of a beast though.. it's 150 miles/242km!

A couple of other people i know have said that too about the Semnoz climb. It certainley wouldnt be easy for mee Im sure certain people would not find it too taxing Ithink i would just like a ride it as an holiday like you Dave sometime.

I've not done the climb from Quintal - that road joins the Annecy road about half way up. The climb passes through a wood for a good proportion of the way until the final third and is likely to provide some much needed shade in JulyI'd think.
