Injury update (Andy)

Post by chester56 »

My final injury toll on that fateful chaingang was 2 broken wrists- right one only revealed a week later- 2 fingers and 2 metacarpals on left side. Left hand and wrist pinned. Will be in pot on both left side until middle of Sept and then pyhsio.....

Have been advised to stop racing as osteoporosis has also been revealed in hips and spine......which, at my age, if I have another heavy fall, is serious

So, much pondering between now and whenever.......

Good Luck to all and a speedy recovery to you Toby

Very sorry to hear that Andy....I was impressed with your determination to come back as strongly as you did after that knee op that you had last year. Hopefully see you on the training rides end of Oct./Nov.(??)....Guessing that you will make your mind up about racing over the winter.

That's bad luck Andy. I know how much you enjoy your racing, and you've been getting some good results this year.

You can always get your racing fix by going out with the Intermediates on a saturday.

Don't tell his doctor, but it was great to see Andy on the chain gang this evening. Hope the recovering injuries did not give you too much discomfort.

All the best Andy - and something that serious must merit a second opinion?

"...see Andy on the chain gang this evening..."

Good man! Would agree with Tom - I'm sure the medical profession would shut down the LVRC in the blink of an eye if they had the chance...

Hope the recovery continues well, Andy.
