Chain Gang - 18.7.2012

Post by chester56 »

Just back from Hospital and an update to all - especially Damien and Andy who picked me up from the rockery on the Cowthorpe Hill right hander - have suffered two broken metarsals to left hand, a broken wrist and a broken rib. Guys, your assistance was and is hugely appreciated - thank you.

The postscript to this is having got back on the bike, determined to ride back to base, I punctured and was fortunate to pick up Lee and Michael - again, great support and much appreciated.

Eventually got home and to Hospital....will see you all just as soon as I am on the mend. The Turbo calls as does a course in typing...as it has taken me 16 mins to type this message with my right forefinger......Ah well, could have been worse

Very sorry to hear such a list of injuries. And don't mention it; I'd never leave someone by the roadside in such a situation. Hope you get well soon Andy, and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Hi Andy, you did well to ride back with that list of injuries! Would've got the wife to come rescue us had we known! Didn't realise you'd punctured, thought you were just suffering in silence as was I in that rain but we must've been close to York as we were still talking about my new bike when we got to Rufforth? You should've shouted mate - god alone knows how you changed a tube in that state!

Get well soon

Damian
