Clifton Open TT next Saturday - can you help please?

Post by stevesavage »

Entries have closed for next weekend's Open Time Trial and we have a field of just over 40 riders.

I need help with marshalling the course and someone to push off so it would be great if 6 or 7 club members could volunteeer to help out so I know the event can go ahead safely.

What is involved?
You need to be able to spare a couple of hours on Saturday 7 July. Be able to get to Flaxton village hall about 1pm. The event will be finished by about 4pm.
Your job is to indicate the route the rider is to follow. There is no requirement to stop or control traffic in any way.
Enjoy some tea and cakes after the event.

Please let me know if you are able to help. If you have any questions drop me a PM.

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve

I have entered the tt but if you're still short I will help, (maybe push off and then go last man!)

Marslled 1 tt, organised 1 tt, marshalled/driven at 4 road races this year - any more offers to help?

Thanks for the offer Dave. Much appreciated.
Thanks to Dave I, Tom F, Mark L and Andy L (with Darren in reserve) I have just enough help to run the event.
Hoping the rain goes away and the forecast is right for tomorrow!

Help required

Steve, TT is really not my thing, tried it and hated every minute, but as a new member I will certainly assist the club on Saturday if you require help still.

I managed to leave a half full SIS water bottle at Flaxton. Did anyone happen to find it?

Well done Steve and Dawn for first-rate organisation (and cake!) today, and many thanks to all the marshals for keeping things safe at the junctions, despite the surprise traffic lights. A good afternoon - not sure I'll ever fall wildly in love with timetrialling but a bit o' sun really makes everyone smile and there was a great atmosphere to it all.

Many thanks to timekeeper Dave Bishop (Cottingham Coureurs Racing Team) and all the marshals and helpers without whom the event would not have been possible: Tom Flemming, Dave I’Anson, Andrew Luckman, Mark Laughton, Darren N, Holly and Dawn Clarkson.

Thanks to all the riders for supporting this event and for raising £32 on behalf of St Leonard’s Hospice York.

A big thank you to Steve, Dawn and all the helpers who turned out on this very well organised event, rare sunshine also and quite warm and finally the great selection of cakes at the HQ went down very well.

Cheers.

Cakes were great - a good thing I rode out to make space for them! A good afternoon out all round. Cheers, Tom

Thank you Steve, Dawn and everyone else who help run these events and to all the bakers for the cakes. Am not a natural time trialist so was pleased with the time. Had a bit of a battle with Paul Crane after he caught me towards Stillington. He marginally beat me by a few metres in the end :( .

Also good luck to those doing the '25' today.

Sorry to dash off - felt we all scooted and left organisers with a lot of clearing up when few extra hands would have made light work.

The troops offered me lift home which i thought might save legs for today. Needn't have bothered. Left my form on the battlefield of Whenby and died thousand deaths on the old A1.

Cheers to all, should be proud. And great effort getting results out so quickly.

Would just like to add my thanks and congratulations to all involved in running this event. Apart from the slight matter of having to pull your tripe out everything else, the course, the chat, the cakes, and lets not forget the weather were all most enjoyable!

Thank you

Tim
